The Allensmith - originally the duo Dave Allen and Barry Smith (whistle player from the band Westport) - became a trio in 2008 with the addition of ex-Mulberry Blue and Mixing up the Medicine mandolin player, singer and guitarist Richard Clay. Richard provides melodic solos and vocal harmonies to add to Barry's mellow lead vocals and Dave's stunning lead and rhythm guitar playing.

The band play an eclectic mix of traditional and original songs and tunes with modern cross-over arrangements and exciting jazz/blues improvisations.
